Being straightforward about this: BigDaySpy currently uses only one type of cookie — the kind required for the site to function at all. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind.
| Cookie | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
Keeps you logged into your admin dashboard (or the platform admin area) between page loads. | Strictly necessary | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
bds_consent |
Remembers your cookie preference choice from the banner below, so we don't ask again every visit. | Strictly necessary | 180 days |
Strictly necessary cookies like these don't require your consent under UK PECR rules, since the site genuinely can't function without them (you couldn't stay logged in otherwise). We still show a preferences banner and let you review this page, in case we add analytics or marketing cookies in future — see below.
On the guest game page itself, your browser's local storage is used to remember which prompts you've already found, so your progress persists if you close and reopen the page. This stays entirely on your own device, is never sent to our servers, and is specific to each guest's own browser — it's used purely to make the game work properly, the same way the session cookie above keeps you logged in.
Should we ever add tools like website analytics or marketing pixels, we will update this page to list them specifically, and — critically — they will not load until you've given consent via the banner. You can grant or withdraw that consent at any time using the button below.
